Typical VO Savings

A medium sized supermarket is actively seeking to reduce their energy consumption and CO2 footprint in order to reduce their energy costs.  The store uses a mixture of refrigeration, T5 fluorescent lighting, T8 fluorescent and halogen flood lights, air conditioning and various resistive loads.

The initial site survey and monitoring highlighted the fact that the site's voltage fluctuated considerably during the day.  This created a minor challenge which would reduce the achievable energy savings.

   Unit in restricted space    

The store's extended opening hours (which helped to increase the savings potential for the site) required a solution that would cause minimum disruption and little change to the overall infrastructure.

A 350A, 3 phase unit with automatic seamless bypass which controlled and stablised the voltage levels to 222v was installed.  This proved to be the optimum voltage level for the site giving the following benefits.
